I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
